The only Atari System 2 game I ever had is a 720, which other than the monitor, never messed around with until last night, as I wanted to test a Paperboy boardset for someone.
I figured the PCB set up would be something similar to Atari System 1, i.e., the main board would be a common main board and the daughter board would be specific to the game. That doesn't appear to be the case as on both my 720 and Paperboy PCBs, both boards in the set were marked specifically for 720 (or Paperboy).
So, are Atari System 2 boards interchangeable at all? Any chip swapping needed? Both boardsets looks physically the same, but definitely different chips populated in both.
Are they interchangeable within an Atari System 2 cabinet (just need to change the CP)?
I just looked at KLOV for Atari System 2 and they list:
Paperboy,
720 Degrees
Championship Sprint
Super Sprint
APB
Toobin
Mighty Mouse
Besides Paperboy, 720 and Championship Sprint, I didn't realize those other games were considered Atari System 2 games. Toobin is a System 2? I never heard of Mighty Mouse before. Anyone have this game or ever play this game? I might have thought it would have showed up at CAX, but I don't recall it being there on the years I attended.
