Ok, perhaps I have enough information to be dangerous... On the CPU board of an Atari System 2 there are test 'holes' for +15vdc and -15vdc, having some telco experience when I measured 30vdc across both pins I assumed that to be correct since the delta between -15 and +15 is 30.

After digging on this forum and reading about the AR-II as a source of problems / power I have to ask should I get 30vdc across these two points or 15vdc and my knowledge of negative power to return does not apply here?

I have a Super Sprint that powered up fine until I fixed the monitor, now Murphy won't let me play it. :(

The manual list the operating temperature well above that of my garage at the moment... but I brought the 2 PCB's inside over night, the AR-II has remained in the cabinet and it would still not power up.

I examined the PCBs for trace gouges, I did notice some soldered trace wires from chip to chip, some to cut legs, I don't have another board set to reference.

Any help would be appreciated.

You measure the +15vdc to ground and the -15vdc to ground individually.

What exactly is your problem with the game?

Pic of screen

Well before this morning, when it powered up the screen was more symmetrical and looked like the bottom of the screen.

Attached is an image.

Thanks for the sanity check on the voltages.

Didn't know, did some reading on here and other places that over voltage out of the AR-II caused the games to act up / not boot up. Don't really know where to start. I don't want to drop the coin on a board set if the trouble is not there, or if the fix is minor.

Let's start over at the beginning.

What game are you working on? Each of the 5 Atari System 2 games has different known issues and problems. Most Atari System 2 games have problems with the power supply and connectors between the power supply and the boards.
