Atari System 1 TTL Motherboard Issues, Does Anyboard Repair These?

Hey guys,

I've been working on a D.O.A. TTL revision C Atari motherboard and after cleaning and reseating all the chips, I'm left with this problem. Has anybody had this issue before or know where specifically on the board I should be looking at to fix this? Game plays fine and you can see everything working in the background. I've replaced all the socketed chips with a known working one and the problem persists. Any thoughts?

Thanks in advance,
~Curtis

Are you replacing chips on the mainboard or the daughter board? Have you verified or replaced the 2 proms (not the EPROMs) on the daughter board?

Hello there,

I'm just replacing every socket chip on the motherboard with one that is working and the daughter board is a Peter Packrat and it's working too. The problem is definitely coming from the motherboard, because everything else works when I switch it back.

When you say switch it back, what do you mean exactly? Have you tried the PPR daughter board with a different main board? I'm just trying to understand how you isolated the problem to the main board in order to maybe give some suggestions on what to check next.

Hey,

Yeah, it's my 100 % working PPR cabinet. The non working motherboard is an extra one that I've been trying to get working for some time. I switched out all the socket chips from the working motherboard into it and there still wasn't any change, so I switched all the chips back into the working one. I had the same outcome with both sets of chips so the problem doesn't seem to be anything that is socketed, I just don't know where to start looking next.
