I have been working on some B/W games and finally got a chance to snap some shots of Skydiver.

This is one of my favorite B/W's. It is very unique with both its game controls and the use of external marquee lights triggered by actions during game play (spelling S-K-Y-D-I-V-E-R for bonus).

I had noticed many years ago that the Skydiver flyer had a machine with a light blue control panel but all the machines I have ever seen have orange ones.

Does anyone own a Skydiver machine with the light blue control panel?
Has anyone ever seen one other than the flyer picture?

That beats pong any day. Never seen a photo of the entire game. Thank for sharing! :)

Always wanted to see one of these. Glad there's a survivor around in such good shape!

Bravo!

Now here is a rare game I think I would actually enjoy playing (take that Sundance).:D

Sweet game, I love the old B/Ws, they are what I grew up playing and that is a very nice example of the early days of gaming.

Wow, what a sweet game! I've never even heard of it, but the cab art and especially the control panel is incredible. And an owl-eye coin door to boot! My appreciation of the old b/w games has really been growing lately. Looks like a fun game to play.

This is pretty cool! I love the uniqueness of the CP.....
Here is a video of one in action.

I know I never played or saw this "back in the day". I played it at CAX and liked it. The pics and the youtube video were both excellent. The variable lighted marquee is great, never saw or heard of another video game with that (the prototype Akka Arrh has a lighted front glass). I swore off b/w raster games. Must resist. Must resist.

How does the game play compare to Exidy's Rip Cord? I've never seen or played that one. That's be a great shot to have both those games side by side.

I have never played Rip Cord (or even seen one in person). From the looks of it Skydiver would be more fun for a few reason, 2 players at once, unique controls, external lighting feature. Rip Cord uses a spinner and button combo for controls which does not seem very exciting but I could be wrong.

Skydiver is actually fun to play especially with 2 people at once. I must admit this is not always the case with the bronze age machines.

Here's the other B/W I have been working on:

More to come on that later...

I have never seen a Cop's and Robbers machine (except the one on the flyer) and I have been looking for 20+ years. I do have a board and manual... :(

Maybe Atari Scott or Jeff from VT would know more.

One board set here, too.....never seen a game, either.
My Skydiver also has the orange control panel.

Did you get those from Videotopia? I remember playing them both at Videotopia a couple of years back. Couldn't get in to Sky Diver, although I do love the design.

I have owned both of these machines for several years. VT does have both of these titles but I do not think Jeff would ever sell them.

Here's mine... had it 12 years... LOVE IT!
Someone is selling one on here right now. If you like it, you should buy it.
Good luck finding another one.
