I have a Rush game with feedback problems. I have repaired these replacing the
power op amp ic's. This one the looks to have a bad thermal protection switch that mounts on the heat sink. I can't remember but I would think it would ohm out at low to no resistance.
Does anyone know the value of it or where I might could find one?
Thanks, Scott

I don't have the answers (thank you Atari for not providing the schematics of these things !).

However, I have a board that works, then goes into overheat, then comes back in, and repeats during game play. I believe that the temp sensor/circuit is tripping it out too early.

So, anything you find, share, as it may help me with my board as well.

Ok I will.
Paper work on these are hard to find.
I have seen some that have a small processor fan blowing on them is enough to keep them running.
If you happen to be in the back of your game, could you ohm out the thermal protection circuit? Don't go to any extra trouble.
Thanks, Scott

Did they really not make any schematics for these? Arg.

I have a board that, even after replacing the opamp, still pulls to the right. I've shelved it for now, but want to get the second cabinet up and running.

I believe the only place that probably had schematics on these besides Atari was any authorized Atari service location. Which means they are out there in much smaller numbers.... but unfortunately I have not found anyone with a set.....

I lucked out repairing one mainboard for SFR, as it had no steering. In tracking the inputs there was an AD converter, so I took the shot and carefully removed an AD converter from a board where the car was stuck in reverse (which I think is handled by a large QFP surface mount custom chip), and put it in the board with no steering. But schematics would make life much easier working with these.

If I get a chance I'll ohm out the thermal sensor on the board I have and post back.

Does anyone know where I can find the jtherm temp sensor that connects to heat sink on the steering board.
