Well, I finally got my roadblasters running this evening with a new slapstic from AtariScott on here and a new 20pin socket for the pcb. There is one issue though that im not sure of the cause. The audio of the cabinet produces a really high pitch whine in gameplay or attract mode. Now i will say, as i got this cabinet, both big blue caps and the factory power supply were removed and replaced with a switching power supply. I was wondering if this issue could be caused by that, or if the audio amplifier's capacitors could be in need of replacing and the board rebuilt. Any help would be appreciated!
Video of the audio posted below:
PS: The other audio and control issues stated in the video have been resolved.

As for the attract sound, mine only plays every so often in attract and I think that is normal.

I also have a switcher and don't have any audio whine. In looking at the power supply, It seems the switcher is only used for the +5 volt line and I have this mini regulator and not a full ARII. From what I understand, the power supplies sucked and were often changed over to a standard switching power supply.

Id start with replacing that pot and see if it fixes the whine. Also you can cut the power to the monitor and marquee light to see if they are causing the whine.

Cool next time i get to fool with it, ill check that stuff out. Unfortunately cannot go nuts working on arcades right now as i am about to make a 1100 mile move at the end of september so cant get too wrapped up right now!

Some of these games came from the factory with switching power supplies. It's shown in the manual.

Mine has what appears to be an original switching power supply and no whine.
