I am reluctantly selling my vintage Atari Roadblasters arcade game. This game is from the late 80's. It is located in Avon, CT.

I purchased this arcade two years ago. Though I was told it was perfectly working, I had trouble with the steering system. I located another Roadblasters unit and purchased a fully working steering system. I installed the steering wheel and replaced the steering wheel sensor board. Several wires were falling out of the steering wheel wiring harness. I removed the offending wires from the harness and crimped them directly to ensure a reliable fit. The steering wheel is made of metal and feels incredibly solid. The steering wheel is a reminder this is a commercial quality machine!

The arcade plays great. It is a ton of fun for parties or to play with friends. The durable wooden cabinet has tons of promise as a MAME system though the system can be enjoyed as-is. I purchased this system from an arcade where it had been used for over fifteen years!

The coin receptors were removed before the arcade was sold to me but they could be reinstalled for pay-for-play. There is a switch behind the coin-collector door to access the master controls. This switch displays a settings screen on the monitor that allows the owner to select game difficulty, price to play (or free play), and several other options.

The monitor is a 20" monitor viewed through a magnifier. It looks very large, at least 30". The sound system is 2.1 and it sounds great.

The arcade is on wheels for easy transport. I am looking for $200, which is an amazing deal. A year ago, under a better economy, units identical to this one were selling for upwards of $400.

I can list the arcade on eBay for added buyer security. (I have 150+ eBay positive feedback)

What a screamin' deal that is!!

If you were in CO, it would be in my house and my wife would make me sleep next to it in the garage. But it would be worth it. <g>

Yeah, the bezel is my favorite part too.

I had the arcade shipped from New jersey to my house in CT when I bought it. I used uship.com

It cost only $170 for 300+ miles

Since I'm only asking $200 you can definitely pay for shipping and still come out on top.

Yeah, shipping has gone up some in the last few years. I would est. $400 minimum. Still a good deal at $600 shipped, but I will have to reluctantly pass. Damn. Nice looking machine.

There is a coin counter in the machine. Over the course of it's lifetime it accepted 183,993 coins!

I just double-checked and the coin reception system is partially there. It is only missing the mechanism that distinguishes a good coin from a bad coin. It was setup for tokens (and I have a couple)

I'll upload a picture of this part in a half an hour. I'm currently uploading a video of the arcade in action.

What's the deal with cities named Avon? And are there higher concentrations of little ladies selling tupperware and other household goods in such cities?

What's the deal with cities named Avon?

It's a river in Great Britain, and part of the name of Shakespeare's birthplace, Stratford upon Avon. In my town, the streets are also named for Shakespeare: Stratford, Juliet, Romeo, Othello, Macbeth, etc.

wow, i agree.... that bezel and magnifier viewing deal is way cool. seen alot of pics of this game, but i have never had the chance to play a roadblasters cockpit.

So it's a system 1 game? Would be cool to have a Marble Madness cockpit! With a 30 inch screen!
