I am reluctantly selling my vintage Atari Roadblasters arcade game. This game is from the late 80's. It is located in Avon, CT.
I purchased this arcade two years ago. Though I was told it was perfectly working, I had trouble with the steering system. I located another Roadblasters unit and purchased a fully working steering system. I installed the steering wheel and replaced the steering wheel sensor board. Several wires were falling out of the steering wheel wiring harness. I removed the offending wires from the harness and crimped them directly to ensure a reliable fit. The steering wheel is made of metal and feels incredibly solid. The steering wheel is a reminder this is a commercial quality machine!
The arcade plays great. It is a ton of fun for parties or to play with friends. The durable wooden cabinet has tons of promise as a MAME system though the system can be enjoyed as-is. I purchased this system from an arcade where it had been used for over fifteen years!
The coin receptors were removed before the arcade was sold to me but they could be reinstalled for pay-for-play. There is a switch behind the coin-collector door to access the master controls. This switch displays a settings screen on the monitor that allows the owner to select game difficulty, price to play (or free play), and several other options.
The monitor is a 20" monitor viewed through a magnifier. It looks very large, at least 30". The sound system is 2.1 and it sounds great.
The arcade is on wheels for easy transport. I am looking for $200, which is an amazing deal. A year ago, under a better economy, units identical to this one were selling for upwards of $400.
I can list the arcade on eBay for added buyer security. (I have 150+ eBay positive feedback)
