Atari Quantum Reproduction - my little contribution

Nominated for "New Product of the Year" award. In fact I think you might have it locked up once all the info is out there for the DIY crowd or if someone takes this to market.

Many Congrats for your hard work and dedication! ! ! !

Thanks Darin, and everyone for the nice comments.

A 16 bit data bus can be hard on the eyes after staring at the screen for hours upon hours day after day.

To be fair, there are only 3 or 4 hard parts that you can't get from major suppliers. But can be found at Arcadechips.com and Mark Spaeth. It's all in the BOM I posted.

Yeah, I was referring to other non-pcb related Quantum parts. Although I have a Black Widow that could be converted and I have an Amplifone monitor in Star Wars.....

I think he means the cab parts like the art and vector monitor but I may be wrong. actually I think a lot of the art has been reproed and even the cp's were reproed (although probably not still available). I think the monitor would be the biggest pain followed by the cab but that could be built. Not sure but I think dptwiz may have reproed the cab at one point too. may still be available. I think if the board became available the demand for art would be enough to make most parts available.

Ah.... I understand.

Yes I have one of dptwiz Quantum cabs. I put a 6100 in it.

The artwork is in progress, isn't it? They have repro-ed everything else except the power brick and I think there's going to be an adapter made to convert and ATX power supply to power atari color vectors. (still checking on this)

So, if I could ever put the time into copying the amplifone 90 degree yoke, put that together with debaz's HV board and a repro deflection board and you can turn that curbside CRT TV into an amplifone monitor.

PhoenixArcade is doing the sideart, but preorders may be closed. Marquee has been repro'd. Control panel and brackets were recently repro'd. Overlay has been repro'd. Brett has repro'd the complete cabinet.

One other thing too, all you really need is a different control panel for the tempest (for a trackball) and the adapter and you can run the Quantum in a Tempest cab.

I almost wonder if a Millipede control panel would be an exact fit for a Tempest, they look like they are the same shape. Hmmm...

my millipede and tempest cp's are within a 16th of an in difference in width. Pretty sure a millipede cp would work on a tempest.

How about someone reproduce the Amp HV board - or just do a run of bare PCBs and figure out a replacement for that one doodad on the board.

Pfff I have already seen that.

Seriously way to go. It has been a long time since I saw the inklings of it a year ago. When you become rich and famous, I can say I knew him back in the day. :)

Can anyone put this all together in a complete working cabinet? I think there would be a market for it (maybe only on the order of a few dozen, but still).

I got to see the blank in person, I knew it was only a matter of time. I want two! I am collecting parts to make 2 quantums and I am still making the cabinets. Really behind again, working out of town 10 hour days and a 3 hour round trip is sucking.
