During the restoration of my Crystal Castles Power Brick(or whatever you call that thing), the ground(bare) wire that comes out of the Transformer's cardboard packed windings...broke off. It appears that this bare wire came from within the transformer and then was grounded off against one of the transformers metal plates that are stacked. There's no way I can repair this. It broke off too deep withing the packing. My question is then, is this garbage? Will it not work? Should I stop the restoration on this power brick and go find another one to restore? I have a "parts" power brick, but that transformer has one less wire that come out of the topside than on my Crystal Castles one. I don't know if they are compatible. Any insight would be greatly appreciated. Thank You.

I won't offer up my minty Quantum but the elektron forge site has a great write-ups on Atari power bricks and ARs in their technical section and can help you to id a replacement - yes your old one is now a wonderful door stop:
