Atari Power Brick Panel Repro Interest??

Troy mentioned the yellow zinc plating. I'd probably have to buy at least one of these. Refinishing the originals takes a butt load of time. Should I just have my paychecks deposited into your account Troy? It would save time.

I would be interested if the finish truly matches the original. If not I'll keep painting them. :)

Has anyone tried to source the actual transformers for these.

If people could fit their own transformers into these then you would open up an entirely new market. You could sell these with a custom version also, IE: transformer hole not punched out entirely

My thoughts below . . . Leave the bulk of the shape there, so people could use these for a wider range of bricks

I need to look through my ataris, but I'd probably take at least 2 maybe more.

Based upon the color, I've always assumed that these were originally cadmium-plated. I'm told that cadmium plating isn't done much anymore (too toxic?). To get equivalent protection and a similar color, they can instead do a tinted zinc plating these days.

My employer had some brackets nickel plated and it looked the same

I searched the net and found

Could be nickel plated

Since I'm not reproducing metal stuff, I might as well throw out suggestions besides the Atari transformer base-

again, Midway Tron/Tapper style transformer panel
Williams cocktail sticks parts
6100 cage covers

At the same time, you don't want to hurt the value of original parts, if repros aren't absolutely necessary. That would come into play with something like Amplifone brackets, but hardly with something like an Atari transformer base. No one is actually looking for those, it's just a restoration option vs having the original replated or repainting it.

Also, the metal bracket that covers where the shroud meets the light cover on Tron. If you repro that, you will clean up.

Initial interest looks good. For those that did not specify a qty, I used a qty of 1.

@Bungy - send me an email with a pic of the Tron part. If theres enough interest, I will make anything.
EDIT: found this thread, so I know what you are talking about. http://forums.arcade-museum.com/showthread.php?p=1681330#post1681330

@JoeyCuda - all good ideas. I could not find Joust Ct sticks back when I restored mine. I had to modify new joust upright sticks. Again, If theres enough interest, I will make anything....provided I have a sample to work from.

As for the finish, it is the same as Arcade shops new joust stick bases.

I'm in for one - this would save me time for my - what is now lovingly referred to on KLOV as - "Faux Quantum". If I keep this up, about 90% of my "FQ" will be repro. Only the monitor, AR and about half of the transformer block will be original Atari.

Only owning two atari's (asteroids and Food Fight)... Are these power bricks standard across the board?

From the few I compared they appear to have all the same holes. Just not all of them are populated. Some have number locations stamped in the panel & some have labels- only difference I've seen.

Have you thought about the 2 threaded ground posts? I suppose those would be easy to source, if I knew exactly what thread and length, then 2 nuts for each post or screw.
