I received a rebuilt Atari Logo stick I purchased from brother Mylstar... and I installed it in my Indiana Jones. It sure feels "different" than the Wico that was in there... not nearly as "smooth". I am not sure of my opinion of it yet, I've not had much time to get used to it... but I just wanted to ask if it's normal for the action to not be "smooth"... it sort of feels... chunky... I guess.

Do you know if new pivots were installed in it? I worn out one will feel clunky but if its rebuilt it should be fairly smooth. Its not going to feel like a standard leaf switch wico since the atari stick uses a spring loaded pivot for centering instead of rubber grommet.

I assume it's in there correctly... Mylstar rebuilt it. The pivot looks new (nice white plastic with some grayish grease around it).

My guess is that I am just not used to the stick...

I just went out and checked my rebuilt one, and it feels smooth. Maybe the housing on yours is really worn?

When he fixed mine, I spoke with him on the phone and he said mine felt as good as new...he said my housings were in good shape...and mine had been repaired with wood pieces!

Mine used to just move smoothly all around, now I can definitely feel it "lock in" more. I guess that's what happens with a non-existent pivot ball and rounded plunger.

I can feel a definite "snap"... well, snap isn't really the proper word...sort of a "hang" going in each direction from the center...then right after the "hang" it sort of "snaps" to the end of the stroke.

Well... I played a dozen or so games with the Atari Logo stick and I really don't like it. I guess I've been spoiled by the Wico being in there first... I am not sure.

The throw is much further than the Wico... but the biggest problem I have is inherent with the stick design... the "notched" guide-plate. With Indiana Jones, I much prefer the "smooth" transition between directions whereas the notches on the Atari stick get in the way. The flow between directions of the Wico is much superior and I find myself getting killed by the damn bats, etc. much more with the Atari stick...

That said, the Atari stick stays... that is what is supposed to be in there... and I am sure I will eventually get used to it... but I see why people replaced them (at least in this game)... Wico's are just superior feeling sticks.
