Recently bought an untested PCB for my I,Robot project.
I still need to build a harness for this cab so I rigged up a crude power and video setup using the test points on the boardset.
First power up resulted in this:
Then I remembered I needed to put 12v to 10.5/15.5 unregulated input.
After getting that wired up I got life:
Dang, block hole! and it will not sync on this 4600
Entering test mode:
First screen that comes up is this white screen with "BAD RAM MA 3000 W00 R20"
After looping that for a few seconds it brings up the first test screen with it counting up 99 errors on the mathbox and says "BAD DATA Y"
Interesting that when I press start 2 for next screen to start mathbox test the lines across the screen go away.
The other error shown is "BAD ROM HIMB2 IKL" :
First thing I did was pull the EPROMs to verify and started work on replacing the sockets.
Found two of the EPROMs don't verify. Both are SEEQ brand and those seem to be dying in general, this isn't the first time I've seen those with bit rot.
Going to burn new EPROMs and finish the socket install. Of course I don't have enough dual wipe sockets for it, I've got some brown ones but this PCB deserves better than having mis matched sockets. Now to wait for shipping.
With the MB errors I'm thinking the 40 pin sockets need to go too but i'm going to take this one step at a time.
