I might have a chance to pick one of these up. Strangely enough I've never played the game. I had the chance to buy one about 13 years ago and I passed.

Is it really as fun as people say it is? Is it a good party game? Someone give me some feedback! Thanks

Also, is there any common problems with the game other than worn out trackballs and shafts?

it is the best! Great workout, loads of fun!! I have had both the 2p and 4p versions (which are you thinking of buying) and only sold the 2p version due to space limits. It is easy to learn and you won't stop laughing playing it.

I don't know of any common issues other than the trackball and rollers but you can get those from Bob Roberts...

Ok, cool. Thanks for responding! Anyone else??

I love mine. Had to teach my two daughters so I had someone to play with. Had my nephew and his buddy come down to play it they couldn't stop as they actaully understood the plays. Sadly not many adults come to play as I like but after rebuilding trackballs very solid. Would love to try a 4 player some day.

Come on down, I am having a BBQ this Saturday!

used to play the 4 player a bit when I was a kid.. Its a fun game, but I doubt it would hold interest.. When gridiron fight and tecmo bowl came out, I moved on to them...

Since you have no history with the game, I would recommend getting blitz 2000 or cyberball if you want a fun football game..

It's a fun party game, if you have friends who grew up with it even better. It has more character than either Blitz or Cyberball imo, but both aren't bad games. Another alternative is Pigskin 621 AD. Speaking of, if anyone has one in the Philly area, PM me.

I've got mine ripped apart right now so I'm wondering if it's as fun as it looks also. I'm excited to get mine up & running. Is it fact or fiction about people getting skin pinched using the trackball?

It is a fact but mostly with over-zealous beginners... Once you get the hang of it it shouldn't happen.

biggest problem is the blisters you would get if you played more than 2 games.. My friends and I would always play it last before we left the arcade as you were done after playing it.. I think you could tear skin if you had a blister and if the operator did not adjust/replace the rollers.

I agree if your party had people who played/loved atari football it would be a blast.

Can't disagree more about cyberball and blitz. The main difference is that a skilled player will dominate a nubie in those games. It takes a long time to master the playbook.

In atari football a skilled player will still dominate (especially if he knows how to cheat in the game), but its not a steep of a learning curve.

I had one, love the game, wish I still had it but it wasn't getting played very much so I parted with it.
