So I'm going to get to the point. I have an Atari football I bought over a year ago for $400 and since the year I owned it I've started to restore it only to realize that myself as well as friends simply aren't that into it and it tends to be used more as a table and less as a game. Besides the fact that I have a baby on the way and could use the money. With that I'll go into what's wrong with it and what I did to it and what I have for it. So if you really want a football, keep reading.
Cons:
Worn cabinet/T-molding/Glass: Not un-savable but it's going to need to be stripped/bondo'd and relaminated with new side art. The glass needs to be touched up and the cardboard bezel is a little on the crumbly side.
Play light issue: One of the lights for a particular play on both sides doesn't light up, I believe this to be a board issue.
Pros:
Working! (I had to try) the game plays and sounds great.
Rebuilt AR/Brick
Rebuilt control panels: Stripped and repainted and have Pheonix Arcades overlays applied to them. Turned out really nice.
Rebuilt track ball: All new bearings and rollers, oiled
Brand new track balls: Only a handful of actual games played on it (6-10)
LED lights in the play screen!
New screws/bolts for the CP!
So it's not the nicest looking machine but it plays and it's about 1/3 done with being a really nice game and figuring I have about $200-250 in the parts ($80 for the CPOS, $45 per tball + $25x2 for the bearing/rollers and lights) At $500 I'm selling at a loss.
I also have another complete set of control panels for the game that are rusted up a bit and have the alternate art on them. I also have 4-5 extra board sets as well as a whole extra trackball assembly with play screen! I'd like to get $100 for the extra parts but MMAO.
Pick up in Portage IN 46368 or possible delivery if within reasonable distance.
