Atari Edge Connector Repair NEW VIDEO!!!

I just did some of that on a set of PP boards, I wish I had seen the video before then, trial and error worked out for me but it also took me twice as long.

Nice job, thanks for the effort.

It looks a hell of a lot nicer than Bob Robert's suggested fix! Also, I really appreciate the part where you explained how the ar-II compensates loss voltage by upping the actual flow of current. nice!

When you mention pre-wetting the wick, do you mean with solder or flux? Solder right?

Thanks for all the great comments guys! :D Making the video was time-consuming but fun! I may try to cover some other topics some time.

Correct. When you perform the initial solder joint between the old and new trace, you'll want to use solder wick that is pre-wetted with solder so you don't soak up all the solder that's supposed to be making the joint. And also use a decent amount of flux before soldering.

You are the man. That video now makes me a pcb edge connector repair guy. You totally rock bit_slicer!

Do you mind if I ask, what do you use as flux removal after the job?

Thanks for your time. That was really very informative. I learned a lot!

Awesome tutorial.
