Hi,
I have many many old coin doors in my parts pile and now have used up all the Atari over/under coin door coin eject buttons, leaving them all with their "eyes" gouged out!

I think these are the Coinco 2822 series coin door - Part#404734 (the quarter slot is integral with the eject button).

I can find the HAPP / Midway and everything else but the size that will fit perfectly into that style coin door.

Has anyone bought these and can attest that they will fit properly?

Any help would be appreciated as when I buy them, because they "look" like they will fit, they are about an 1/8" too short, width-wise they are good.

Thanks in advance.

Jeff

Existing N.O.S. of these Coinco parts have long since been exhausted. No reproduction parts have been made. The only choice is "used" or scavenged parts.

Happ Controls bought out Coinco a few years ago. So there's no way Happ would reproduce those parts. Happ's philosophy is to get everyone to buy Happ's own line of coin doors.

I've posted about this in other threads, but matching coin return buttons is a difficult task. That's because there are many types, and they can differ by tiny amounts, even from the same manufacturer. So even if you get 'CoinCo' buttons, there are multiple styles, some of which can look the same from a distance. The only way to know for sure is to hold one next to one you know is right, and compare all dimensions side by side.

The only way I've found to remedy this is to have a boneyard of spare doors, sadly. Usually it's easier to just get a whole new door, and use your incomplete one as a parts door for future doors.

The same goes for the bezels and return flaps.

It would be great if someone took the time to catalog all of the doors out there, with close-up pics of all parts, to aid folks in tracking down matching parts. But it would be a monumental task.

Thanks guys....

This was my worst fear, all these good coin doors just for parts now.... all because of the dammmmmmm eject button!

I'm in the same boat! I threw out my trashed coin reject buttons off my Centipede, not knowing they would be impossible to find. I'm really kicking myself now. I'd rather have the trashed ones over ones that don't properly fit

Monopolies are always such a wonderful thing...

Yes, the perpetrators are going to go to a special level of hell. One that is reserved for child molesters, and people who talk in the theater.
