This is my last attempt to sell this game in complete 100% working condition before sending it to its early demise. Is anyone interested before she gets the axe? I'm asking $500 FIRM. I know the parts alone are worth much more than that.

The monitor only has about 6 hours of game play on it since being re-capped and replacing the transistors. The centering grommets are new and the wiring harness edge connectors were replaced a few months ago as was the interconnect cable. A couple of sockets were replaced on the boards with machine pin sockets to correct some flakiness and heatsinks were added to the four 2901's on the math boards. I also have the original manual and schematics

Please help save this classic!! If you want to see additional, full size pictures please send me an email or PM. I'm located in Northern NJ

Thanks

Your crank is not being yanked, some of us don't take kindly to threats of parting out a perfectly good game. Some people don't even like joking about it. No aplogies necessary, but a thick skin is recommended.

I'd buy that game, but my desire doesn't intersect with your price (not that it's priced wrongly), and I just don't have the room for it.

Got to agree with the others here.. That machine is working with no issues.. Parting that would be a real shame.. Im not harrassing you, but please reconsider the thought of parting that classic...

I had 4 Battlezones, all working a few years ago.. I never even considered parting any of them... Could I have made more money if I did??? Sure!!!

This will be my only post in this thread..

JMO....

what's your zip?

Curious how far away you are from me. Also, how tall and wide is the machine. Its a decent price just not sure if i could fit it in my equinox or down my cumbersome basement stairs

What?! Don't part out a working machine. Classics are a rare breed and each one you kill will most likely never come back. :( If I had some spare cash and you where closer, I'd buy it just to hang on to until it got the proper home.

Same here. I have the room but not the cash nor the real NEED for this one, that being said I surely hope it finds an appreciative home and isn't parted out.

Parting out this machine wouldn't be right. I just don't get it really. Nearly every single machine is always worth more in parts- the same goes for just nearly any mechanical device.

in my gameroom

This Battlezone is now mine.

$500 was a more than fair price for its condition and maintenance record.

<RANT>To all who pounced on this post: Perhaps you would consider paying a bit more for a working, well maintained machine and a bit less for parts. Seems to me that would do more to remove the temptation to part it out than flaming everyone who considers it.</RANT>

Thank Jim - it was great meeting you guys last night and I'm happy to hear you thought it was a good value. I thought it was very fairly priced given its condition and maintenance as well. I'm glad it found a good home.

I did my best to bite my tongue and not respond to many of the posts to this thread but now that my last vid is in the hands of some good folks and I no longer have any skin the arcade arena let me share a few words and thoughts:

I want to start by saying I've dealt with A LOT of great people on this forum - 88mph, JuanUp, Vectoraddict, Silverunicorn, Copius, Melchman, Fatherpain, Arcaderob, Andrzej, Malice95, Talon2000 and Road.Runner to name just a few - so this is in no way directed and everyone. Rather, it is directed at the misguided souls who feel compelled to speak without knowing WTF they are talking about. You would have thought by the amount of whining that I was asking $1,200 - a reasonable asking price not that long ago - and that if I didn't get my price I was going to have a temper tantrum and threaten to part it out. I hardly thought $500 for a working, classic vector game was out of line at all and if I had parted it out and sold everything on flea bay - which, unfortunately, is where I would have gone because there is NO WAY I would have offered it here after the way I was treated - I could have easily gotten well over $800. Easily! Don't believe me? Go do your homework and check out the competed listings for every bit and part that could possibly be harvested from a BZ. So, who the fu@k are you to criticize me for what I want to do with MY property and who the fu@k are you to call me a terrorist or any variant of one? By the tenor of your posts it seems like a lot of you are still living in mommy and daddy's basement and haven't a clue as to the current economic environment. In my estimation I was already contributing $300+ to the preservation of the hobby so to get treated like this? I don't think so. So, to all of you who got your panties in a bunch with your ideological fantasies you can relax - the BZ has found a good home. And, as Melchman so perfectly laid out above, you should consider spending a few dollars more for a working game and less on parts rather than being so judgmental and castigating folks who consider parting one when they're already leaving hundreds of dollars on the table.

In closing I would just like to say GROW THE FU@K UP and get in touch with reality!

Peace

I don't think anyone had issue with the price but more with your tactics. Parting out good working machines isn't taken lightly here and there are specific rules designed for those who want to do so- to prevent that from happening. I don't know why you had to threaten to part out a very nice machine at a good price in your first post. Had you just offered it for sale, without what many here saw as a threat, you would have still sold the machine and not garnered any attention.

Good deal. I'm in Northern NJ and was itching to just do it. Hated to see it go to the grave. Hats off to you.

BTW, good choice in games.

Just so you're informed, because clearly don't know all the facts and details, I did try selling this here over a year ago but I received so may bull$hit low-ball offers I got fed-up and said I would not come here again with it. I've also had it listed locally on CL for the past couple of months with same result. So, before actually giving it the axe I decided to eat crow and try here one last time. Hence my post stating if it doesn't sell it's getting parted.

Now that you're enlightened, I will reiterate that NO ONE one has any right calling someone a terrorist or telling them what they should do with their own property - ever. Get it? May I suggest then since you and a few other seem to be the moral police of KLOV and of the video arcade collecting hobby that if you have an in opinion in the future that you either perform your due diligence first and learn all the facts or keep you mouth shut. Understood?
