Decided to sell my Atari Amplifone 25" tube because my expectency of finding a cabinet for this is close to nil... I would rather see someone put it to good use instead of collecting dust in my basement.

Anyway, this is an original Amplifone 25" tube. Tube as been tested and is working perfectly! Absolutely no screen burn. Tested this monitor with my B&K 467 analyser and all 3 canons tested great.

Asking 1400$. I will not ship this! I can deliver for a fee. Tomorrow I'm heading up to NJ from Ottawa Ontario and I would meet anybody along the way for drop off at no extra cost.

February 1st and 2nd travaling to Chicago and would do the same deal.

Pics available just not sure how to post them on here...

I'm not actually interested in buying...

But "won't ship" and no location indicated makes it hard for buyers to know where they have to pick up at.

I am located in Ottawa, Ontario, Canada. I often travel to the States to pick-up games. Tomorrow, i will be going south through NY all the way to NJ and I could deliver on my way down.

February 1st, I'm going to Chicago IL and will be traveling west from Ottawa crossing all of southern Ontario to MI then IL. I could also deliver on my down there.

This monitor is one of a kind a no, you can't just use any 25" tube that you find in a thrift shop to replace this... this monitor was used in the SW sitdown version. This is a vector tube with 90 degree and original with absolutely no burn. Not sure why I'm writing this as people that need this know what I'm taking about.

Peace

No offence, but that's incorrect - You easily find a compatible tube as most TV tubes out there that are compatible. While the Rauland tube does have an overall better picture than a lot of the compatible tubes, most wouldn't not even be able to tell.

Must resist the urge to price police.......

You do realize that almost any 25" TV from a thrift store will yield almost the same results. Now 19"- that is a different story.

The problem with 25" tubes from a thrift store is that the phosphors on the face of the tube are a darker color than the original which is light grey. That means you will have darker vector lines... and you are not able to get the brightness up to a nice level without starting to get raytrace lines... so the vectors are going to be dim and no real way to get better.

Here is the thread where i got one working... pics look good but it is dim and cant be turned up anymore or you get Raytrace Lines...

Not ANY 25" but some 80's 25" TV's carried the same actual tube itself, including bowling alley overhead TV's - someone got a dozen used A63's and gave them out. Burn-in included.

So you pay for the non burn and correct tube. Especially if you're restoring a SWCP.

I'm open to offers! And thanks for the info. I posted asking value of this and got from 1500-2000. I thought that at 1400$ It was reasonably price...

Cheers!

Well, first of all, it's "retrace lines," not "raytrace." While vectors can have some similar issues, I don't know how accurate it is to call the "spiderweb" effect "retrace lines."

The phosphors are the same, the difference is that later picture tubes had a faceplate made with tinted glass (for better contrast) instead of clear glass. This is the same reason why most classic games put a smoked plex between the display and the player.

If you can't get your picture adjusted to your liking with a tinted tube, remove your plex, or replace with a clear one.

There is no cover over that tube that can be removed... Its dark and thats it...Please enlighten me, with the tube and no tinted cover over it...it is still to dark.

This is a piece of plexiglass (or glass, I don't know on this game) which has a dark tint:

It's there to improve display contrast, since the face of the original tube is a medium gray. If you replace the original tube with one with tinted glass (as most newer ones do), you can replace that part with a clear one, so you don't darken the image twice as much as necessary.

That price would include the whole assembly..(HV,Deflection,yolk,Rings,Tube,Brackets..And factory Convergence)

This is a vector tube with 90 degree

For the sake of folks searching this in the future: The 25" amp tube is a 25V100 (100 deg) tube that uses the same yoke as the WG6100. NOT a 90 deg tube as you state. The 19" Ampliphone uses the 90 deg tube with a different yoke.
