Hi all,

I recently acquired an Atari 2800 console from an eBay seller in Mexico, and I was wondering if Atari did indeed sell the console in the Americas. It has no Japanese lettering on it at all, which is in and of itself is no surprise. However, it also tunes to US TV channels 2 & 3, just like a regular US-NTSC 2600. From what little I understand of the subject, US and Japanese television bands don't overlap much. My Famicom tuned to Japanese channel 1 is received by a US television tuned to cable channel 95, or thereabouts. Is what I have on my hands a unique case, or do all Atari 2800s tune to US channels 2/3?

I know the 2800 was rebadged & sold in the US as the Sears Video Arcade II, but what I have has the Atari 2800 nameplate on it.
