Found this on you youtube, WARLORDS 👍rated number 2 overall as best multiplayer game on the Atari 2600. Reminded me of all the epic "Warlords Tournaments" we had as kids. 2 Sets of paddle controllers required. (somebody had to bring their Paddle controllers over. 🤣 In my oppinion the Multiplaer Games were some of the best games on the Atari 2600. I Decided to mention some that IMO were the best. Just for S&G. 🤣
Seems like there was a few more that went unmentioned.
Space War was noticeably left off
I always thought Bowling was good multiplayer game.

Have not watched the video yet, but Maze Craze was one of the most underrated VCS games.
Yeah, it's not bad, I mostly played alot of multiplayer 2600 games as a kid, so I watched it. I think he may of forgot a few games though.
Video Olympics probably should of been on that list for sure, It featured Pong for crying out load, the game that pretty much spawned the whole video game Industry.
Never played much Maze Craze, but I think its on the list. The sound on the game was annoying as heck, though.🤣 I would have to hit the Mute button for that game🤣

I will probably do a list of my favorites I owned or played at friends houses. 😆

For some reason I always had a blast with Bowling, But You had to play the variant where you could swerve the ball.
👍

In actuality there were probably less than 40 games that was worth playing on the 2600. The simple fact is that it only had one button, probably the bggest reason for the downfall of the 2600, Actually might even be said that alot of the early arcade games only had 1 Fire button so the ports weren't that bad, it wasn't until alot of Multi Button Arcade games got big that the 2600 could not port very well, that caused the downfall. Probably another reason for the so called Video Game Crash of 1983. I am not sure of alot of the later 2600 games, Basically anything released after 1986 was played on the NES, and the Atari 2600 was cosidered always inferior.
So your looking at
Space Invaders
Missle Command
Asteroids
Space War

Space War was another underatted Muliplayer game, an asteroid type 2 player game

I forgot about Outlaw. That was a good one too.
yeah, that's on the list. pretty sure I never played Outlaw, looks like it was solid, though. I only had about 7-8 cartridges as a kid, so probably a few out there that I missed. There were no game rentals back then, so you were kind of limited to just your collection, or your friends collections. That was prett much the only way to figure out what games were the best to buy, I pretty much passed on all RPG stuff.
I was actually more into Arcade Games & Pinball at the time, The graphics and gameplay just blew away the Atari 2600.

When I saw the post title I immediately thought of Warlords. We used to have a buch of fun with Dragster and Space Invaders, too.

I immediately thought of COMBAT. Luvin' the old 2600 graphics. Brings back good memories of a simpler time.

My buddy (who owned the cartridge and could practice) used to just destroy me in Dragster. I blew my engine up every dang game.

Dragster, missed that one. Looked Epic🤣
That probably would of been big around my house
🤣
Definitely some money would of went down on that one
🤣
People have to remember it was the Seventies early Eighties, Looks like it would of been a fun racing game, some people just on't get the nuances of some games.

Hillarious, that probably would of got the juices flowing a bit.
🤣
Like I said sometimes people just dismiss some games without really understanding them. That game looked designed for 2 player mode. (probably the most fun).
Kind of like Atari Bowling, you had to put some time into it, to enjoy it.
