I knew I had a stash of Atari games back at my parents old house. Found them! Although, I remember having more...
Sure am glad that I kept almost all of the boxes/ manuals for them.

I forgot about the Centipede and Atari comic books by DC!
I also remember having a few posters, but did not find them.
Some of these games still have the original price tag $14.99 or $4.99 LOL!!!

Figured I would share so enjoy the pics.

I never owned ET although I did play it a lot. I remember superman and solaris was fun also! Just fun to see them with the original boxes and store stickers.

Rad collection man. The only thing I have left from back in the day is the box for Ghostbusters. Excellent save.

My mom's favorite 2600 game was E.T.

When I was in college, I decided to start collecting old gaming consoles. The early buzz was all about Chase the Chuckwagon being the "grail" of games. And, sure enough, a week after reading that, I found one for sale at a flea market in a cow pasture for $1. I talked the seller down to fifty cents (I am evil). I traded it for a minty Vectrex system with two controllers and boxed games with overlays.

Chase the Chuckwagon hype eventually cooled off, but by then I had a huge console collection...which I rarely played with. So, I was offered $500 for the lot. Cash in hand, I thought, "Hey, I could actually buy a real arcade game now." Years later, here I am. :D

That Ghostbusters box will bring you a little coin if you sell it...other than that Pitfall II and Big Bird are slightly rare...you would get a little out of the Activision stuff as well, there are a lot of people putting together sets of the Activision stuff complete in box.

Nice find there...and a little Atari Jr. is never a bad thing lol.

I like stories like this. Oh, and nice collection w/ boxes BTW, smalltownguy.

Sad story about my Atari collection: My sink ended up springing a leak which made its way down into my storage area where a good amount of my Atari 2600 boxes were stored. Needless to say, about half of them got soaked through. I dried them out best I could on a tarp, but they were just garbage by that point. I invested in plastic bins for a lot of my stuff after that.

Yeah..there is a great website for the Atari consoles http://www.atariage.com/ Those cartridges are pretty tough..if it doesn't work when you plug it into the console..just use an eraser on the edge connector..just like the big games. ;)

That ghostbusters box brought back some memories! I had to beg and beg to get it!
Not a great game but I loved it. Thanks for the post!

I have no idea what value there would be in these. I am curious though. I wish I would have bought Halloween or Texas Chainsaw Massacre as a kid. But I don't remember ever seeing them. I know they are pretty rare. A cousin of mine had a lot of games. I remember he had Frankenstein which was really rare and fun!

I guess I kept these and other stuff because I remember my father always talking about his old baseball card collection that his mom threw out and how he had so many first run cards. He was so bummed out because he knew he had valuable stuff now.

If anyone wants a better pic of something let me know.

I still have all mine from when I was a kid. I remember when these carts were $40 each back in the 80's. I think one of the most fun 2600 games was Stampede. Every played that one? The goal was to lasso the black cows but not the white ones...or vice versa.
Most of my childhood was spent in front of a tv playing atari 2600.

nice collection! i've never played a 2600jr. i've seen a few in the wild, but never nice enough to pick up. they seem to get dented and what not like 5200's do. those are some good games you have, though.
