Well, mostly :)

I just got the entire guts, bezel, marquee, complete control panel of and several boardsets from Anthony/Quartrarcade for an Exidy Victory game, something that quickly became a personal grail after developing a taste for it through MAME.

Now aside from the "minor" issue of getting one of the boardsets to work I have to give it a home, I'm thinking maybe to stick it in something temporary and then built it a custom mini, although I have to finish several other projects before I really delve into this one. Also I'm pretty sure I can separate the music/SFX/speech channels, give them their own speakers and better amplifiers, so that might be a nice upgrade.

Has anyone here successfully repaired a Victory PCB? If so what were the problems you had to fix? I'm trying to get an idea what to look for as these games are notoriously unreliable and tough to debug, and ultimately I'd love to figure out a way to "bullet proof" the game, assuming that's possible. Also if anyone has a spare Victory/Mouse Trap cab I can buy (any condition) or copy let me know, although it might be a while before I've got money for it unless we can work a trade deal.

Oh and pics forthcoming when I've got a chance.

I just wish I was able to get the cab itself, it looked mint, but transportation issues just made that impossible. I could have copied it too and made a Mouse Trap from scratch as they use the same cab.

Very nice TB! Victory was a game I *never* saw in an arcade bitd. I remember picking up the Colecovison cart on clearance at Zayre.

I recall the controls being some sort of an enigma which lend it ever hardly getting played...

BTW Lets see some pics!

That's why I wanted the actual arcade game so bad, it's a game that screams out to have an real spinner and is tough to play with anything else, and Colecovision's trackball didn't quite cut it. Pity it didn't do better commercially as it's a fun game once you get the hang of it, but again I think the unreliability of the hardware got too frustrating for many owners, I'm hoping to figure out what the major flaws are and a way to protect against them.

I think one thing I'll do is once I get a set working is to leave it running for a day and see what seems to get overly hot, measure those temps and try to find the actual specs as to what it's supposed to be able to handle, and if it's outside them try to see about reducing the strain, finding a tougher substitute or using more heat sinks. I think one issue they might have is the RAM (I forget the number) which is the same type as games like Defender, Joust etc and is notorious for overheating and failing, but the good news is at least for Williams boards there's a way to substitute them with another type which is more resistant, I'll see if that'll work for Victory too. I've got five sets now, two of which are stripped and have nothing to lose, so I've got lots to experiment with.

I'll try to post some pics tonight, and at some point I hope to scan the marquee, bezel and control panel as they're all in mint shape and ought to be preserved for possible future reproduction.
