So im talking with an operator about getting some games. I have bought a couple hundred games from this operator over the past few years. I know that he just bought another operator out and has another warehouse full of games. Since im the only person he sells to, i call him up and ask when he wants me to start to come to get the games. I dont even know what all games they are, but our agreement is that i will take everything. So it doesnt matter what they are anyway. So he tells me that he has quite a few 8-liner poker machines that he needs to get rid of within the next few weeks and that ill get a good deal on the vids if i help him get rid of them. So as usualy, I agree that ill take the 8 liners so that i can eventually get the vids. I never asked how many there were total, but he did tell me there were alot of them.

So today i made the first trip to get machines. The total amount of 8 liners that i am getting is 300!!, all working, updated bill heads and all. Ends up, there are 400 machines total (8liners), but i told him that i would take 300. I mean, you have to be nuts to take more than that, and i want to keep my sanity. (however, i sold several on the trip back home, so it looks like im going to go ahead and take the last 100. )

Ill be selling a bunch of these, for less than what all the parts are worth. It may be worth it to some to buy a machine just for the monitor. you can sell the board and bill acetpor and almost get a free monitor

Wish you were over here. That'd be hilarious and cool to have like three of 'em in my garage.

I wish I could find one more of these cabs. I have one already that I'm turning into a generic horizontal JAMMA cab, and would like another for a generic vertical JAMMA cab....

I'm not exactly sure what 400 8-liners would look like but it sounds like a buttload. How does one person sell that many of those things? Here in Nebraska, you aren't supposed to run them but you can sometimes get away with it if you have a tax sticker on them. I have heard that they make good money in bars as some people will put a $20 in them without thinking. Don't know if it's true though.

They have them in bars in Portland, Oregon (or at least they used to...based on your user name you probably knew that!), and I went with a couple friends a while back and they both fell prey to it. One friend, who is a very compulsive spender, put in a $20, got up by around $10, and just kept playing until all the money was gone. Seems like those machines would have to make a good amount of money in the right location (where they're legal, of course).

Anyway, good luck selling all those machines, OP!

What is the deal with those things anyhow, I see them everywhere, do most merchants just payout under the table?

Hmm...wonder if they would fly here in my store? I could fit quite a few in the back room...hehe

They are not legal in Indiana, i know that for sure, so you couldnt get any. Some states do not allow them, but at the prices im selling them for, it is below the value of the parts on them

175 for 1-5
150 for 6-20
and deals can be made for larger quantities

also, if you can bring a trailer on this thursday and pick up a large quantity (10+) then i can give you a great deal if i dont have to move them again, but that deal is only for this thursday

For those asking how they work, when you put money on them, it adds credits to the game, depending on how the machine is set up it can vary. Most are set at nickels, so a buck would give you 20 credits. when you are done playing, you look at the cridets, if you have 100 credits let, you would be paid under the table 5 bucks, and then they would hit a button on the machine to clear the credits down to 0 for the next person
