I have recently acquired a DECO Astro Fighter cocktail in mostly working condition. The monitor came on just fine, and the game played it's demo screen. I decided since everything in the cab appeared to be original I should go on a mad cap replacing spree. I replaced all electrolytic caps on the control boards, power supply, and monitor.

Once I powered the system back up after the re-capping, there is now some very slight bowing on the ends of the long axis of the monitor. Other than that, the monitor looks like-new.

Does anybody know if there is a pincushion adjustment for this monitor or is it fixed?

More helpful would be schematics for this monitor, but I can't seem to figure out who made it, or it's model number. I've found some suggestions online that it's a Toei monitor, but I can't match mine to any pictures (including those on The Real Bob Roberts' page). Most everything including the PCBs are branded NEC. Pictures are in my next post in this thread.

Thank you for your help

try hunting around the chassis for adjustment pots. hopefully you'll find some and they'll be labeled well enough to know what you're changing.

mecha187: I have tried just about all of the pots on the boards, except at least one - it's quite hard to get to after the monitor is assembled so I'll have to separate the main PCB before I can try it.

I have attached some pictures to get some help properly identifying it.

Well, I never found a real "pincushion" pot to adjust but I got it to look pretty decent. Still have no idea what monitor this is. Any info is appreciated.

..is it odd that there wasn't a single bipolar electrolytic cap on this chassis?
