OK, I just picked up a "New Astro City" Candy and the picture on the monitor will not fill the screen (See photo) no matter how I adj the monitor settings? I noticed on boot (Using Ultracade pc) the whole screen is working, but once the game system boots up, its not. I have tried three jamma pcbs as well and they don't fill the screen either... Any ideas??

Thanks

How have you been trying to adjust the width and height? Are you only using the remote board under the control panel or have you also tried adjusting them using the corresponding pots on the chassis? The remote board is for more fine adjustments between different boards, if none of the boards display a full image on the screen then you will have to adjust them on the chassis.

Ahh, will try that! I thought the remote pcb was the same as the main pcb, just in an easier spot... But why would the whole screen be working just on boot with the Ultracade?

I do not know enough about the Ultracade board to be able to explain that, but since other Jamma boards also were not full screen then it would speak to needing to make the adjustments on the chassis pots. Maybe someone with some expertise with Ultracades can explain why it would be full on boot.

nice cab !

not familiar with the ultracade, but it's probably operating like a PC with arcade vga card. Aka the system boots in 480i then OS drivers switches the res to 240p for the menu & games. Different frequencies will result in a different raster. BTW , you have what's called a new astro city, it's equipped with nanao MS8 or MS9.

as masamuneGTO said, there is a crapload of pots on the side of the chassis for display adjustments. here is a link to the manual

good luck !

Thanks! Hope its just adjustments on the main chassis. Thanks again for the manual!

Yes the Ultracade is a pc (Old one was toast so I am using an old Dell now), games are stored on a hard drive and there is a jamma adapter pcb along with a dongle, which is attached to the serial port which changes the res to 15hz.

OK, it seems its none of the pot settings. Appears to be an issue with the 15khz on the monitor. Its full screen when it is getting the wrong video signal (Thats why its full screen on boot with the Ultracade), once 15khz kicks in it goes to the smaller screen area (Thats why all the jamma pcbs are not showing full screen) Sooo, how do I fix this (If that is possible?)?

Anyone else have any ideas why when the monitor runs 15khz the screen size is off?

Thanks
