There's a guy selling a game in my area he says is called AstroAttack. I don't see it listed. Any guesses on what this is? Or did I just look it up wrong?

There might very well be an "AstroAttack" game, but I bet he messed up the name.

Wouldn't be surprised if you showed up, and it was Asteroids or Astro Invader or even Armor Attack...

I answered an ad for a Space Invaders, when I got there it was a Star Castle....... the peeps said "well it's space and you shoot these little like invader guys that attack you"......:D

I talked to him again and he said, "I'm standing here looking at it and it says A-S-T-R-O-A-T-T-A-C-K". He spelled it out for me. He described it as a full size, 6' tall game with coin slots and everything. Non-working but complete.

I wonder why there's no information about it. Some Space Invaders bootleg or something perhaps? Weird. I'm tempted to go look tonight. He also has an old 50's pinball that he says actually dispenses nickels if you are winning. Ever heard of that?

Oh yeah, the other thing he mentioned that sounded familiar...he said it had ships that looked like Tie Fighters from Star Wars on it. Does that sound familiar to anyone else?

The only non Star Wars games that have tie-fighter style ships that I know of are Exidy's Star Fire and Midway's Space Encounters.

I also suspect that "Astro Attack" is a Space Invaders bootleg.

Kyle

google search : Astro Attack is a game from Amsoft / Ian Beynon. Control a tank through a maze and destroy alien tanks ... Astro Attack (UK) (1984).

Isn't that just home computers though? Or did you see an arcade game reference?

That pinball that spits out nickels sounds like a Bingo machine.

I remember a bootleg SI game that has SW bootleg artwork....can't find the pic right now though....

He said the pin is missing the top glass but that the back glass looks good. So....sounds like a pin. I think. He's a half hour from me. Tempted to go just out of curiousity but I don't think I want either of these things.

Bingo machines have top and back glasses too, just to be sure, I'm talking about this kind of machines:

Here's the Invader bootleg I rememberd, but it's a different name:

To give an idea about how many SI bootlegs there were:

I bet you are right....it's probably a bingo then. Sounds like it. And that Invaders game is the same one I remember seeing before somewhere. Could be a cousin of the same game maybe.

Well, I'm going to sit this one out I think. If anyone wants the game for $50 it's over in Suisun City in the Bay area.
