Asteroids worth it or not?

I have always wanted a nice asteroids. Love the game, and the cabinet.
I have found the nicest I have ever seen. In and out like out of the box.

I am buying it for 800. How much did you pay for yours?

I personally believe this is on the upper end of what should be paid for a classic, and in this market probably 100 over...but the machine is so nice I had to buy it.

I will post pics when she is in the arcade. I am only transporting it 10 miles..but rest assured it will be seal wrapped and handled very gently. I don't want to put the first mark on it.

Please validate my purchase with your own stories of indulgence.:004_ssmile:
Dude, nice machines don't come around every day. I paid $1000 for my Food Fight and have $1000 in my Centipede cabaret and they are at the point where uneducated friends ask if they're new (always makes me laugh). If you're happy that is all that matters. Most Asteroids got played the sh!t out of, there aren't too many cherry ones out there.

Row

Nice Atari row you have there Aaron!

Thank you. Here is more of the Atari row. Dig dug mini is not pictured.

I hope to get it in the arcade this evening. I will post some pics. I don't know the story behind the control panel. All I know is that the machine is impressive for something 30 years old. I have seen many asteroids machines. This is the nicest that I have seen... The CP is what it is... I like my machines to look really nice. It is difficult to spend the extra cash, but... but time and gas are worth something and he is going to kick in the art work so.... it really isn't

Asteroids has to be one of the best games period. I probably have spent more time playing asteroids than any other game. Basically it boils down to that last 100 bucks...I would have felt much better at 700, but hell I know the machine, and the guy. I am also not spending any money that was ear marked for anything other than games. (hows that for rationalizing).
