I put all the markings in

2 nd task was to strip the paint, cut out all the markings, and then sand it

Did you use some of the scrap metal under the buttons holes? How would that bondo stay there if you didn't do something?

What kind of tools did you use to cut this out? I mean it really looks good.

Thanks, I used a makita saw with a cutting wheel on it for the big cut-out, and then I used a dremel with a cutting wheel for when I got to the corners. I don't have anything underneath, but I might have to switch to jb weld instead of the bondo. The last guy I had tacked some inserts in and warped my panel on me. I pulled the bodo inserts out, going to try something else.

Here' s a picture of it primed so I can test fit the overlay to make sure everything lines up correct. Now at a stand still for the holes, but have a few ideas...

The panel came out better than I thought considering what I started with

ok, decided to go with a small plate on the underside. Glued it in with Jb weld, and put some inserts in and glued it in also with jb weld. I sanded it down, finished it with some bondo as a finish coat. Once dried, I cleaned and primed a 1 st coat of primer to see what I need to do to finish this off. Tomorrow I will re-sand, and put a couple of more coats of primer on, and call it ready.

Thanks for the comps.....Heres an update:

>Control panel, filled, and primed and ready for coat of black
> made wood block filler for the mission select pcb

Now, I know its not perfect, but alot of the stuff I am doing is from measurements and pictures. I dont have any original stuff to match up to. I am trying my best.

Here is some pictures

Ok heres the final update:
The rust color on the thruster is from the light, its new from Ram controls, so theres no rust on it.
>Installed the Lunar lander overlay, buttons, the thruster, mision select pcb, wire harness, wood block,etc.....

>Looks awesome considering I had to do alot to it, custom cutting, measurements, and make my own stuff with nothing to compare to.

DONE! DONE! and DONE!!!!

Like to say thanks for the help and info from Rich, and from Chris. They provided me with measurements and info on the control panel.I also thanks to Darin, awesome job on the overlay.
Thanks John

Nice work!!

Any documentation on the measurements to convert an Asteroids CP to a Lunar Lander? Or are there panels out yet?

I used this, and it worked for me but, I have nothing to compare it to, so it could be wrong.

Maybe buy an overlay from pheonix, and measure off that using this as a cross reference
