Asteroids... Tired of Looking At It

Anyone worried this may get parted can let out a sigh of relief. It was just sold whole... and will be put on location at the guys Glass tinting shop... at $.25 a play. W00t!

Wonder if it will make any money? You should go by there once a week and throw a quarter in it.

don't talk about lack of space to me around these parts. at one time I had the following in a 2 car garage. the following were dedicated, hang on, frogger, track and field, joust, pacman, stargate, championship sprint, zaxxon, robotron, crazy taxi sit down, initial d 3 dual sitdown, police 911, time crisis 3 dual screen, space duel, terminator 3 pin, blasteroids, roadblasters, mercs, 2 pole positions, karate champ, cabal, return of jedi, gauntlet, tekken 2, vapor trx, and the following undedicated, sly spo cabinet, metamorphic force, 2 tetris', 5 capcom bowling games, 25" dynamo cabinet, 1943 in corner cut dynamo cabinet, a cocktail cabinet, dark stalkers, and im sure there was something I am missing. I moved enough machines around and scrunched em together just long enough to get inbetween a couple of games with a snake light to do a little maintenance and when I lost my wallet in one of the games and didnt find it for a week it pissed me off and made me clean house! mind you thats not all the games my best friend and I own lol

Funny thing... I tried to off the gutted Defender for free to the guy... not interested.

I'll try again tonight when (hopefully) the chick who wants the multicade comes to pick it up.

So, would you say you enjoyed your first bulk buy/sell? Would you do it again?

Yes and yes. I made a decent enough profit plus I ended up with 3 cabs out of the deal (Capcom Anthology (SFII), Pole Position and Multi Pac)...

It was fun as well. My not wanting to sell the Asteroids too cheaply wasn't because I needed the funds from it (I had less than a hundred bucks in to it total)... but rather the principal of the matter. While I hated selling it for $250 (Asteroids is a $350+ game damnit!) I rather would do that than part it out.

EDIT: Next time...depending on the size of the buy...I may consider a storage facility for a few months. If another 14 cab deal came my way I would SURELY go with the storage option.

Congrats on the sale Frizz. Too bad I couldn't take advantage, but I totally understand why you'd rather make a local sale vs. a damn-near cross-country one. Maybe next time you are selling something of interest we can hook up.

Now I'm not so worried about buying this $500 Punch-Out! this Thursday. (That and the Asteroids would have left me eating hot dogs for a couple weeks lol).
