Asteroids... Tired of Looking At It

You just aren't trying hard enough to get rid of it. I finally sold my Star Castle for $300. I just had to throw in a free Spy Hunter. :( And it wasn't even a local who bought it.

Sounds like Boise is as bad as Reno for selling. I still have an Atari Football to get rid of, but I may have to trade it for something to keep from selling it too cheap.

Oh, and sometimes having garage space back is more important than the game. Life is just better if you can actually move around out there.

I feel your pain Friz. I have 4 on CL right now. It was 5, but I sold the Ms Pacman and the inquiries have dropped to zero. That seems to be the only game that is moving right now. At any price. I am just about to throw them on EPay and be done with it. If that hideous purple DKII (http://cgi.ebay.com/ws/eBayISAPI.dll?ViewItem&item=140361616088&ssPageName=STRK:MEWAX:IT) can go for over $400, I'm thinking that's where the money (and the eyeballs) are living this year.

Edit: It went to $431.99 but didn't meet the reserve.

Nope...no trips to Iowa planned. I will be driving through either Nevada, the backside of california, or Utah come February (visiting family in So Cal). We'll likely go the backside of Cali route, but it depends on the weather/snow factor.

I finally did sell the MS Pac I was trying to sell and got the full $550 for it, which I was surprised.
I've got another Ms Pac that has a nice cabinet to sell but can't get a board to work out of the 3 I've got. I may have to stick a multi board in it soon and move it out. Next I need to get that Joust working and try to sell it... Seems like lately I've only been working on games I'm trying to sell. :(

Damn, I'm hoping that thing sells so he will stop spamming the dfw CL with his game. :D

its time to fully give in to your collecting indulgences and rent a storage unit.

just think about how much more room you will have.
you can get even more projects and "test" cabinets, etc.

you know you want more. time to finally listen to yourself.
or, find a location and try and make money with it.

Or you could always stop buying games you have no room for. I know that none of us seem to take that option but it's a novel idea.

I remember the good old days (about 8-5 years ago). I could sell an asteroids for $600 in a couple of days and have people waiting for the next one because I got a few that called after I sold it. I got one left and haven't sold it for 2 years now. Was asking $480 then $425 now I'm willing to take $350. I'm just lucky I don't have to worry about space so it will sit for a little longer. good luck on yours, let us know how it turns out.

I have a shed... but it's a metal shed and leaks, so it's a no go for storing cabinets. I actually considered having another shed built with a nice wood/shingle type roof, but at about $2K minimum, it's a little too steep for me right now. I guess I could put some cabs in the steel sheed with a tarp over them, but... I just don't like the idea.

A Storage facility is a losing proposition...

Nope... the cab is in better shape than my personal collection cab... I am just too damn lazy to swap a few components I'd want from my personal cab (casters, PCB w/HS save kit, and I prefer the WG in my personal Asteroids over the Electrohome in this Asteroids.

That said, there IS some side art damage that has been "repaired" by someone prior. If you're interested, I can take some detailed photos... I'd say one side is 8/10 or better and the other is 7/10 or better.

Also, as Spyridon found out, it's only like $30-$60 more to ship a 2nd cab versus just one. Perhaps you'd be interested in a Great 1000 Mile Rally? Or you could take the Defender cab FREE. :)
