Asteroids starts out fine, gradually loses brightness and starts flickering
Hey guys, so this started happening all of a sudden. In fact, it seems to have started happening after I moved the machine a few feet to make room for another.
When initially starting up the game, the display is fine. Bright, stable etc. After a bit of time it dims, and the brightness starts flickering. It never used to do this until just now.
Some background: I repaired the machine a few years ago by doing the following (using kits from Bob Roberts, mostly):
-Recapped deflection board
-Rebuilt power supply
-Did Cap kit + Transistors on monitor
-PCB repairs (PCB seems fine)
So the one thing I never did was a cap kit on the AR board. I guess I kind of stopped when the other things got the machine working 100%. I actually have the cap kit, just never got around to using it.
Does this issue seem familiar? I looked through the sticky already. Could the AR board play any role in this? I'm hoping the new caps don't need replacing already?
Monitor is a V2000.
