I just found out one of my Asteroids boards must have a mod. Its fast, real fast. Does anyone have a modded Asteroids board?? Or information on this Mod???
It pretty fun this fast:eek:

Thanks Mod, Im going to see if thats what was done. its alot of fun. cant get 500k but im working on 100k. Wonder how many of these were done??? First one I have seen.

I can't remember offhand, but I think there is a board defect that can cause a speed up, too....

yup they did a mod on pin 4 of c5. but also looks like they did pin 3 of c5 too? I will post a pic if I can find my download cord.

here is a picture.

Interesting stuff, I guess you could rig up a switch to select between.

This mod must have been to get people off the game, so they could make more money $$$$$$$

Always the $$$$$$

I agree the mod must have been about money. it was really hard getting 100k on it, thats usually easy for me. It funny I almost like this better, way more fun. I just played my regular on it like super slow mo now:eek:

My Asteroids came with a speed up board. Check this one out.. And of course the high score board which I added.

I find it funny how the OP has a board with just a resistor added to it, while the other board shown in the photo has this ridiculously elaborate daughter board on it to do (supposedly) the same thing. I wonder what the actual difference between the two different mods shown here are? You certainly couldn't convince an operator to pay you much money for a resistor mod. Wouldn't it be funny if the daughter card was just for show, as an excuse to charge operators more money for the mod?

There seems to be a lot of different speed mods for Asteroids.

Has anyone thought to document the mods on a chart with the actual percentage speed increases over what is considered default?

I find mine a lot harder to play for reason, and the asteroids themselves seem to move slower than on a board with no add-ons. Not sure if mine is a speedup or not :)
