So every time I read something on the Asteroids game the "score field" trick is always mentioned. As I understand it this only works with the ver 1 rom, which I have (start screen only says "Asteroids by Atari"), yet I've never been able to get it to work. It's possible I'm not doing it right as I've never seen it demonstrated nor is it detailed much in anything I've ever read beyond "The player can sit in the score field and never be hit".

Which score field? Player 1? The top score? Player 2 even? Clarification is very welcome.
