Asteroids ROM that runs on Asteroids Deluxe hardware?

Has anyone ever made a hack ROM that gives you Asteroids gameplay on Asteroids Deluxe hardware (probably with Asteroids Deluxe audio since the sound hardware is different)?

I'm contemplating working on this if someone hasn't already done it.

That lets you plug an Asteroids board into an Asteroid Deluxe cab with no mods, but it doesn't let you change the ROM out on an Asteroids Deluxe board and play something very close to Asteroids (sounds will likely be the Asteroids Deluxe sounds).

I haven't looked into this enough, but I'm wondering if the address space on Asteroids Deluxe for the ROMs is big enough to support both games? Would be cool to be able to swap in a different ROM and get (pretty much) both games. I haven't dug enough yet to know if it is feasible yet.

I searched around for disassembly of both games, but haven't found anything yet. I can disassemble myself, but if it's already done, that would be cool.

correct the Braze mulit-game never went into production

Asteroids and Asteroids Deluxe boards swap-able with a ROM hack or harness adapter

so to answer your question - what you are proposing does not exist

yes many of us would love to have one. Not sure why it has never went in to production? There was/is definitely a finished working prototype. It's at CAX every year.

If I do the coding for this, is there someone else that can burn ROMs and test? I figured I'd test the ROM work on an existing fpga implementation if astdeluxe.

Or better yer, is there a FAQ somewhere on burning your own ROMs?

I can't promise anything here. I'm scatter-brained with my hobbies.

Don't forget the implemention of the Pokey.

Once the Exidy 440 Collex'n is done, I'll be working on another multi kit that might interest some of the posters in this thread :)

If you are makin what I think, I'll buy!

I'm planning on making an Asteroids ROM that uses pokey for audio so that it runs on an astdeluxe board. The sounds would be identical to Astdeluxe. If I can fit both games on the ROM, that would be nice too.

I actually like the deluxe audio and cab better, but prefer Asteroids gameplay.
