Asteroids Repair

Anyone? I don't want to have to buy another monitor or anything, but we seem to be heading that way.
I swapped out those resistors with wire, and I'm still not even getting the dot any more.

All the fuses test good.

The main issue I'm finding, is if I have it on, and then go to discharge it, there isn't a pop or anything. It's like that anode isn't getting anything to the tube.

When I discharged my monitor, I didn't get a pop at all.

Maybe the flyback diode?

I'm just throwing it out there, in case you haven't looked there.

If you buy another monitor and it craps out then what ? You are right back to square one. Have some patience. Just because it isnt popping doesn't mean the diode is bad. I would say its rare that they fail to the point where there is no picture. I am willing to bet something else failed in the HV cage if the spot killer on the deflection board is off. If it comes to it, send those monitor boards out for repair instead of just buying a different monitor.

I'm fine with patience, but when I've rebuilt most of the thing, and spend a ton of time, sure I'm fine with getting a known working monitor. This board and monitor I had weren't working at all when I got it. I'm moreso ready to grab a monitor as I'd like to have this thing going for my party next weekend.

I'll rip open the HV cage in a bit and get a look at that diode and go over the solder joints, and parts there. When I was getting the dot on the screen, I was getting a pop. I'm not getting a dot currently, and no pop.

Your Hv is not powering up. It is due to no voltage getting to the hv unit. Or a fault in the unit its self. I think You said you reflowed the headders on the hv board and capped it already. Check for opens in the resistors on the hv board. The flybacks in those hardly ever fail.
