Early owl eye Asteroids in decent shape, needs a good cleaning. Plays blind, I've recapped the monitor and tried some other things, but now I'm frustrated with it and just want it out of my garage :D. The board is fine, I've hooked the pcb to my o-scope and you can see the game. The G05-801 is a different story, though. Anyhow, come get it for $100. I'm gonna post it on Craigslist tomorrow. Pics are from when I first picked it up, it's a little cleaner now, lol. I'm also giving away a Sega Turbo cab, complete minus the boards, control panel and lower coin door. The monitor is dead in this one too.

I'll give you $100 shipped for the coin door, boards, and marquee.

Fuck that. There are plenty of parts around without encouraging someone to part out another one. Send those monitor boards to me and I will fix them as cheap as I possibly can. I might even have working spares i can trade out for yours plus a little cash if you wanted. Don't part that game out.

Don't worry, I'm not about to part it out. I've had plenty of pm's trying to get me to part it, but I wouldn't do that to a classic like this. That's why I listed it so cheap, to entice someone to pick it up whole... I might have to take you up on the monitor repair offer.

Frizz, my wife and I are big Steeler fans (even today after getting spanked by the Brady Bunch). My wife's actually been to several games in Pittsburgh.

People really get pissed about parting out an Asteroids? I could see something uncommon but Asteroids?

at what point (after multiple years of part-outs) will asteroids fall into the "extinction" category for you personally?

bump for great guy

Funny went to the Super-auction in Colton this past weekend, was over 120 video games in attendance to be sold, not 1 Asteroids let alone any vector...
I wouldn't say they are "rare" but parts for these aren't all that plentiful and the people that have them aren't real inclined to let them go very easy, I'd take it even though I have one if he were somewhat closer, should be an easy sell and good luck on your sale Sir.

Believe me if it was within a couple of hours of me it would already be in my garage. I too would rather this be saved and brought back to life but thought I would toss out an offer in case it does get parted which happens alot around here. Normally I wouldn't even do that but those are parts I could use.

They don't seem to have much value in the Bay area. There's been a guy trying to sell a nice looking working AD for ages up here for $250. Dropped it to $200 recently on CL. Not sure if it sold or not. There's some kids down the street who put 7 of them together and built a fort out of them.

...but isn't every parted Asteroids being used to build back a damaged one or even several damaged ones? So really a few crappy ones get parted and then some people who really like the game get to make the one they own playable again. Seems better than having a bunch of half working ones around rotting away in garages. Again, I could see the point with some games but Asteroids will never be rare, we will all be dead and gone and complete Asteroids machines with blown vector monitors will still be sitting in our garages :)
