The black vinyl is peeling along the edges of my asteroids. At some point, I plan on removing it, fixing the edges of the particle board, etc.

In the meantime, can anyone recommend anything to "dress up" the edges?

Cut back the shredded bits, and paint the exposed wood? Take a Sharpie to it?

A sharpie won't look good on wood. You'll be able to see through it and there's always a weird purplish hue when you look at it from the side.

Just trim back the torn pieces with a razor blade and use some Rustoleum Black satin. That should hold you over.

Thanks, guys! I'll be picking up some paint tomorrow.

Yeah, I figured that would be the case, but you can always hope.

They are right about the Sharpie. That's why I use India Ink.
