Just wondering if Scott or anyone else is ever going to make these. I see that he has a ton of screenshots, and info on these on his site - of course with the project on hold statement.
I mainly want it for the HS save on my asteroids deluxe, but the added games would be nice as well!
Anyone............????????

I thought Mark made some HSS kits or was making some that worked on Asteroids... His were very generic and going to be modified for the different games. You might shoot him an email to see if he made them available.

I would love one of those multis... :(

I'm not buying any mod for Asteroids till this damn kit comes out.
I don't care who makes it, just release it so I can buy one.

I have 2 kids that have been concieved, born, potty trained, learned to read and ride a bike, gone to first grade, second grade, third grade and earned a Bear Badge in Cub Scouts since the time I was ready to plunk down money for this kit. And it was old news back when I first heard about it in 2000.

This kit is the Duke Nukem Forever of the arcade world.

/what, me bugged? nah. ok, a little. but I'm cool with it.

You just want all 10 scores saved instead of just 3?

Didn't you do HSS kit with some included diagnostics too? I know there was some discussion about it and I thought your Warlords HSS kit was one of the first of your generic processor family HSS kits you were considering.

I think saving all 10 scores would be nice. Having some extended diagnostics would be very nice. Having an Asteroids, Asteroids Deluxe multi would be Awesome. Having the Asteroids, Asteroids Deluxe, Lunar Lander would be F*cking Awesome! :D

Would be great if the multi was ever produced but I think it may never be. Which is sad because best I can tell it was completed and I would say has been tested well as it's been on Jon's Asteroids that's at CAX each year. It would be great to see this project come back to life and be available to the public.

Hell yea,

Even just a Asteroids/Asteroids Deluxe multi would be awesome.

(lunar lander would be awesome too, but it might have to get pretty cold outside, or monkey's flying out of my butt before we ever see that combo come to light again and produced on a larger scale).

But the Duel Asteroids with HSS would rock.

Mark,
Yup thats what im mainly looking for. The extra games would be a bonus. I had to have my ast deluxe boards repaired (I have 2 ), and I started wondering about a HS kit, and I stumbled upon Scotts page, and I never remember seeing all the documentation. I wondered with all the screenshots, boardshots and whathaveyou that why these never got finished? They look pretty far along to me.

But in the end Im just looking to save all 10 scores. Along with all my other Atari games - LOL! Well, I take that back, my Millipede and Battlezone already have the "kits" in them. But Tempest, Toobin, Ast Delux and Marble madness could all do with larger HS tables. :)

Why not just buy an Asteroids High Score save kit? Mikesarcade.com been selling them for years. I've had one on my Asteroids for at least 2 years...

EDIT: OOps....Asteroids DELUXE... nevermind.

I think Jon has all of the multi kits the everyone dreams about, it seems like every game in his collection has a multi kit in it. How did you get to be so lucky Jon?

I did Warlords and added a centipede-style RAM test to it...
AD already has a decent RAM test, so there'd be no reason to add it...

I can't remember if I coded up the score save routines for AD or not... I know I did Asteroids, but AD was less of a priority, since it already saves 3...

Now that you mention it I do believe your memory is correct and that it was just Asteroids.

Yea, I think I have multikits in as many of my games for which they are available. But aside from my Asteroids multikit, I'm pretty sure that all of the others (besides Asteroids) have been widely available for at least some time frame in the past. ESB/Star Wars, Sega vector, 96-in-one Pac, Multipede, switchable ROM chip for Tempest Tubes, and 2 JROK multiWilliams deals...they are all available (or were at one time) to everyone I think.

Does swapping boards out of my Venture to play either Mouse Trap or Pepper II count? :)

Or how about my I, Robot/Road Runner/Escape from the Planet of Robot Monsters multikit? Just kidding :D ...

I always figured that multikits a) increase the value of a given game, and b) why not have more than 1 game available on a given machine if at all possible :) ?

Plus I really feel that supporting the folks that make these kits is important.

I've been meaning to ping Scott B. again to see if I could re-light the fire under him to maybe finally get the Asteroids kit out there...I haven't heard anything from him in over a year. I will give it a try and see what happens...

Hell, get a pre-order going if he's at all interested in possibly doing a single run. I'd be interested for sure... hell, I'll pre-pay.

This one kit could make the man a bit of dough, though I am guessing he's likely not in a position where he absolutely needs the dough.

Also, I would even buy one that just has the beta code in it as is if he is just not wanting to full test/finish the damn thing. :D From all reports the last prototypes seem to work just fine.

At least sell everything to someone that will finish it!

Seriously... give the man a break... he's got 4 kids to take care of... I'm sure they're more important to him than you having a fucking multigame to play.

He could always pass on the kit to someone who's kid less with a ton of free times and has red hair...

Yes, I too have been waiting for this one. First if I recall from Clay Cowgill and then I guess he dropped it for lack of time or maybe because Scott was making one. It now seems like their's almost as good a chance for the Asteroids, Asteroids Deluxe, Lunar Lander multi game as their is for an all in one sound board for the Sega G-80 Multigame. How long have we been hoping for that one? I would like to see both sometime before I die but I wont hold my breath to long. Anyone that completes ether of these projects will be my hero.:D

And remember that Scott said he built in support for an analog input to LL, so you can build a simple analog thrust control. I can't find the RGVAC thread, but Scott posted that it was supported, though there seemed to be something you had to do, like use another POKEY or something. Hope that holds true after all these years.

I was planning on using a Tempest style dial hooked to a 5K pot to keep the footprint of the thruster small.

I am hoping for the same thing. I have been saving a complete LL control panel I was planning to put on my Asteroids when the multi game came out.
