I just noticed this a few days ago. My Asteroids graphics are kind of fading in and out. The weird thing is that only the rocks look very light and are actually pulsing darker to lighter. The space ship and your ship look fine since they're a brighter white. I thought maybe it was a power issue since I had all of my machines on but I had only a few machines on today and the same thing is happening. Ideas?

Bump. No one has heard of Asteroids? It's a vector game by Atari. They only made a brazillion of them so I'm hoping someone knows about the monitors they used. ;)

You need to reflow the solder on the header pins. It's gotten cold or cracked.

This is a very common problem with Asteroids.

Well, was anything ever done to the monitor ? New caps ? does all the solder look original ? It probably ( just like the other bazillion monitors posted about on here) needs a cap kit, fresh solder on header pins, and check the fuses in the bottom of the game for corrosion. I have seen that cause that problem too.

It was my Asteroids, I did a full Bob Roberts cap/xistor kit on it- even changed the filter caps. I did not reflow the header pins. But the fuses were all replaced with new ones, and so was the big blue. Along with the AR rebuild, board repair, etc. These repairs were about a year old, when the OP started having problems.

Anyway, you ever fix this More Cowbell?
