Asteroids Issues

After reflowing header pins and doing a cap kit on both the hv pcb and deflection pcb i have a solid picture but am getting the dot in the center and on the objects as well as random lines. pics included. i have not replaced transistors on chassis yet. any help appreciated. getting closer.

so the brightness and contrast did the trick!! i notice a very small dot in the center of the screen and objects, about the size of a pin head. should i adjust dimmer until that goes away?

Adjust so no "middle dot" in any asteroids or in the middle of the screen.
Put in TEST mode and look at the cross-hatch with the "brightness bars". Adjust accordingly.

sweet deal. thanks a bunch. i have it back to just the ship glitch. screen looks incredible.

A lot of glitches can be caused by the power supply. If you haven't you should rebuild the ar1 and replace the big blue as the first defense.
 
You likely have a bad TTL chip, which is not always easy to debug, even with the right tools.


Post a pic of the test mode crosshatch screen.
 
You're missing the crosshatch pattern that should be the background. It should look more like the pic below.

Definitely a bad vector generator TTL chip. Finding which one is the hard part.
