How much would you pony up for an Asteroids in a Space Duel cocktail cabinet? Average condition, no CPOs, working.

What's the going rate for Space Duel PCBs? Depending on the condition of the XY monitor I was thinking of converting it back into a Space Duel.

not sure how they would have done that without gutting the cabinet. At that point, where are you going to get the parts?
you will need
$50-$100+ wiring harness (not sure but maye you can mod an UR harness)
$100-$150 iso transformer and arII pcb
$300-$500 color monitor
$75-$125 pcb
$200+ topglass (good luck with finding that)
$50-$75+ cp art

when you get it all done, you will be lucky to sell it for $700. The plus side is you might have a working Asteroids board, monitor and transformer. That could fetch $200-$300. '

as for what you should pay, $300-$400 max.

Thanks for the info, Bill.

Turned out to be a Asteroids Deluxe in a very very nice Space Duel cocktail cabinet. Not sure if they just did one color on the original Space Duel monitor or if they transplanted a B&W 19" from a full size AD into it. $200.

that would be the key. Its a $300+ savings if it has the color monitor, but its still probably not worth saving.

That seems like a pretty good price considering it's working. Even if it has the "minimal specs" of a B&W monitor and Asteroids PCB, those parts are worth over $200. If that's what was fitted then it also means the power brick was switched since the AC for the color/BW monitors are different. Or, as you say, they may have left in the brick and color vector monitor and just adapted the edge connector to hook to an Asteroids board. Then all you'd need is a Space Duel PCB which for some reason is the black sheep of Atari vector game PCBs and has remained acquirable for around $125.

Finally got into it. It's what looks to be a HUO Space Duel cocktail (20 plays on counter), and someone carefully transplanted all of the parts of a Asteroids Deluxe into it (probably took the color XY monitor for some other game?). Monitor is a B+W GO5-802, with a blue gel on the front. $200 is fair I think - looks much better than the dinky 13" monitor on the true AD cocktail I have. I'll post pics and thoughts in the general section later.
