I know you can test an Asteroids Deluxe board in a Asteroids. The controls are backwards but still works.

So can I test an Asteroids board in a Deluxe cab and get the same results?

yes, though like going the other way you'll also get some audio issues (either too low or too loud and distorted, can't remember which.)

Yes, there are some additional issues. Rumor has it that someone might be making an adaptor board with the proper electronics to adapt an Asteroids board into an Asteroids Deluxe cabinet. I think it would sell well with the first release (Asteroids Only) of the Asteroids Multi-game. :D

That would be awesome. I would rather have the multigame in my Deluxe anyway:cool:

It wont flip the screen for the mirror though, so it will be upside down, but for
just testing out a board to see if it might work it can be done. I made some
prototype adapters with the flip circuit, the inputs swapped, and a circuit
to match the audio impedance. Its totally plug and play. At some point
I may make a production run of them. A pic is at the top of my poor mans

Thats what I'm currently running my own deluxe cabinet.

I'm slowly shipping a multikit or two each week, but it seems I'm not having
much luck as the people that have gotten them have had other life issues
come up and not had a chance to test the multigame much. Thanks to Sam
though for hooking his up right away and reporting some issues, of course
that just means more work for me to fix it.

I have no such life event's btw, and I have both AD and Asteroids available for testing.....:D

That is exactly what I need for my new Asteroids board that is going in my Deluxe cabinet when the kits go on sale. ;)

Move me up the list, and I'll be happy to install it promptly and provide a detailed report back to you :)

I allready have an adaptor that lets me play either Asteroids or Asteroids deluxe. I dont know if I'm supposed to say who made it though.

How did I miss this thread. :)
Well sense the cat's out the bag yes I have been testing Scott's Asteroids multigame in my Asteroids cabinet. Luckily I had the time and thanks to road.runner for fixing a last minuet problem with my board which cropped up almost to the day Scott was to ship out my kit, he had my board fixed and back fast. All I can tell you right now , this kit is well worth the long wait and I am sure Scott will have the issues fixed soon so hang in their, it cant be long now.
:D

I would want both as I have an AD cab and would like to play Asteroids in it.
I would also be willing to test pre-prod.

Best,

Bill

Sorry to resurrect this old thread, but I am pretty much the same boat with having bought the Asteroids Multi from Braze (haven't installed it yet - sigh...), but would rather have it in an AD cabinet (I have access to a bunch of them, but my Asteroids needs structural repairs).

Looking at the "poor man's adapter"....
Would changing the AR1 board to have the correct value caps for Asteroids be adequate to compensate for the sound issues?
