Anyone know where I can fond the parts to replace a HV diode on an Asteroids monitor?

I've looked around at the regular places I usually buy parts and it looks like everyone is sold out of the diodes at the moment.

If you know of a supplier then point me in their direction so I can get it up and running again.

Thanks,

- JM

I just picked one up from the eBay guy who's been selling them for the last couple years. It's a different part than the ones he has been selling, but is supposed to be compatible. Haven't installed it yet, so I don't know for sure. Will report back when I do.

Check Arcadeshop - I am pretty sure they have it.

All of these responses assume you have a G05-802, or a V2000 (which is why I asked what model of monitor you had).

If you have a G05-801 (which which some early Asteroids were shipped) they are wrong, and you should consult this page: http://www.arcadesolution.com/blooming.html

Finally got the game pulled away from the wall and checked the monitor. It is a WG 19V2000.

I'll start checking around for the part.

Had the time tonight to put the part in the machine. Thankfully the monitor was extremely clean and the parts including the boots and springs holding it were still very good shape.

It took less than 15 minutes, and most of that was getting the HV cage out of the cabinet.

Makes up for all of the time I've put into the Sea Wolf lately, without getting it running.

Thanks to everyone for the help.

Yeah, I hate it when I'm looking for fixes online and see a lot of suggestions for the repair, then never get a post for what resolved it.

I'm going to try to make sure and finish out the threads I start in the future so that there will be resolution to them.
