I have a spot in the center of screen on my asteroids deluxe does it mean the monitor is bad, it does have neck glow. No sound from the game ,just buzzing, although there is a red light on board that is on.

If you can't coin the game up and hear the sounds (i.e., it's playing, just with no picture), then it's most likely a board issue.

You can also try powering it up with the test mode switch enabled (inside the coin door), and you should normally hear a single beep, and a crosshatch should appear on screen.

Don't leave the monitor on long with that spot. It will burn a hole in the screen quick. My Asteroids has a spot permanently because of that.

I know I'm missing the test switch, does anybody know which switch it came with, an on/off flip switch or the push button kind. I have other games, where else can I test this game board to know if it works?

Blowing up Fuse 600 anybody know what could be the problem. Can't coin up just a humming from speakers. Also replaced D608 was burned on DB.

Test your frame transistors. Google how to test transistors with a DMM if you are unfamiliar.

If D608 was burned, test Q606 and Q607. Either may be shorted (though this could be from one of the frame transistors being bad also).

The test switch is just a standard on/off switch. You should get the test mode working first, as if the game board isn't working, it may be putting out bad voltages to the monitor, which can cause it to blow.

You should try to get the game playing blind first, by setting the dips to free play (see the manual), and seeing if the P1 + P2 buttons flash. Leave the monitor unplugged until you can get the game playing blind.

If you have an Asteroids cab, you can test the AD board in it. But that's the only other cab you can plug an AD board into to test it.

I can see your test switch in the background of picture #2... it's on the hinge side of the coin door, near the top. It's the little switch with the red body and three wires with yellow heat shrink. In your photo it appears between the tube and the cross brace of the monitor frame (near the word 'test' ;)).

Center is off, up position is on or you can hold it down in the momentary position. It is C&K model 7107 (a single pole, double throw toggle switch), still available on DigiKey.

EDIT: the absolutely identical part number is 7107SYZ3QE but neither mouser or DigiKey stocks it. The 7107SYCQE is very close, just the width of the terminals is different.

Thanks, will try what was suggested to get the game board working first.
