I'd been debating selling my asteroids deluxe, suprisingly it doesn't get any love from my kiddos and i need the room for my q-bert. My daughter last night said why don't you sell this one out of all my games. Will i regret it if i let it go? Thoughts

What are your other choices? I let both my AD and Asteroids go and I regret it. They were games that I actually played. I replaced them with a multi, and I rarely play that one.

My kids don't play either of my Asteroids machines, they say it's "too hard",

Funny they have no problem playing Halo Reach or Call of Duty with a controller that has 16 different buttons....
Heck one of told me that Ms. Pacman was too hard....it's one friggin stick that's it....kids today...don't appreciate the classics....:D

Oh and I have no intention on selling mine, I get in at least 1 game a day.
So I wouldn't sell it.

hahahah My oldest boy is the same way with the same games, reach and COD. Says my games are old and boring,he does seem kind of partial to my multi Neo though. My oldest daughter and youngest boy love my games but think the most difficult games I have are Rtype,DKJ,Popeye, and Punchout and I'd have to agree. Odd coincidence that they are all nintendo cabs and all of their dips are set to easy? lol

Asteroids Deluxe is one of those games that goes through a high demand increase every so many months... I sold my Asteroids with no regrets... then got an Asteroids Deluxe and I would never sell it... its such a cool game... sooo sooo much better than Asteroids plus the reflective effect adds awesomeness!!!

Keep it, you'll kick yourself after you sell it and want to re-acquire it... it will end up being during the time of high demand for it.

I just dumped a few hundred into getting mine working so after that it will be hard for me to part with it. I have always thought it was an awesome game and never grew up playing it but after playing at a fellow KLoV'rs place I knew I had to have one. Just sit down and think slowly about it while staring at every game you have. Thats what I do and if I stare at a game long enough thinking about the things I like and hate about it and the hates outweigh the likes thats the one to go.

I love AD but I also love Asteroids, hard for me to dump the Asteroids as it's different enough to keep my attention.

I usually think abut how much I play the game, if I never fire it up it seems like a big waste just to keep it just as an ornament.

AD was one of the first games I acquired when I first started collecting in the late 90's. Had it for years, played it alot, but for some reason I sold it.

I always regretted selling that game. Found one this year for a good price, finally. So, it's back in the collection again. Not leaving this time.

As someone else said, I have both Asteroids and Deluxe. They're both different enough that I like and play them both.

thanks for the comments. I have a super zaxxon that i'm in the same boat with, it's just too damn hard for my kiddos and for me too, but i keep thinking of putting a regular zaxxon board in it so i don't want to let it go yet. I'm not sure about the asteroids deluxe, i don't play it a whole lot but it's a classic and i love the way it looks. I might list it kinda high and then if it sells ya, if not good for me.

Asteroids Deluxe is one of my franchise players. There are quite a few games in my collection that I love and I won't let go of. Honestly, I don't wanna have to try and find a nice example again. Mine is in great shape, works perfectly, monitor has been rebuilt and bullet-proofed. I play it a few times a week, but even if I didn't I'd still keep it. I never understand the "This game gets no love at the parties that I throw for senior citizens or 5 year olds." or "We don't play this one everyday so it needs to go" or "This one didn't get touched last week, but did the week before. If it doesn't get touched this week, should I sell it?" You need to look at the bigger picture. What games do you want access to whenever you want it? How do you want your arcade to look, feel and sound? Ticks on the counter mean nothing. You have a private arcade where only a few people have access to the gameroom on a regular basis, not a public one where a cross section of humanity is able to weigh in on which games are worth having for the long haul. Keep it.

I had an Asteroids and an Asteroids Deluxe. I sold the Asteroids Deluxe and regretted it. It took me 2 years to get another one. I then sold my Asteroids. I now have the AD but someone has made an offer for it. A good offer. I had a REAL hard time saying "no". Asteroids Deluxe is one of those game you take for granted until it's gone... you then miss the hell out of it.
