My asteroids deluxe sound worked great , then one day I moved it to the other side of the room , turned it on and the sound was barely , faintly heard , you have to stick your ear all the way next to the speaker to barely hear anything . Then one time after the sound problem started , I turned the game on and the sound was back to normal !!! But after I turned it off and back on the sound went back to VERY quiet . I found these wires , anyone know if these wires have to do anything with the sound and where they go ?

I doubt it; they're disconnected on my machine, too.

...but the two brownish-white wires behind the volume pot (actually a rheostat) probably have a lot to do with it.

Probably just a loose wire or a dirty contact on the rheostat. So try wiggling those wires, wiggling the pot, and the edge connector. Also, try wiggling the 4-pin connector on the audio/reg board with the brown/white wires.

I wiggled some wires behind the volume pot and the sound came back full volume , but then when I was playing it cut off again , so its a bad connection around there some where . Thanks for helping me figure it out , I didn't know if the audio board needed to be recapped or fixed , but its just a loose wire .
