Hey all.

I'm new to arcade repair, and it appears I need to replace one of the read only memory chips on my Asteroids Deluxe PCB (according to the self test): R2, part number 036800-01. The serial number of my machine is 1275, it is one of the ones with the really fast Killer Satellites.

Could someone point me to a place where I could get a replacement chip? Or do I need to buy an entirely new PCB?

Thanks very much!

We have a few regulars that provide roms - Steph @ HobbyRoms.com is one of them, then there's ChannelManic and others. If you post your location maybe someone near you can help you out with it.

A lot of times the chip legs just get dirty, and the chip needs to be removed, clean up the legs, and try putting it back in.

You can see my location on my profile page. As to requesting from hobbyroms.com, which is the form to do that? Should I email the person?

I don't think that it's dirt because I have already taken it out and wiped off the legs of the chip. It failed overnight: it was working fine last night, and won't do anything after being booted up this morning.

Thanks again for your help!

You can email him I think or maybe PM him (Steph) here. I know he mentioned going on vacation but I think that was a week or two ago, he's prob back by now.
