I have an issue with My asteroids deluxe where I can play the game, but only my ship and the enemy ship shows. I can hear the asteroids exploding but cannot see them or anything else. Also when I kill the enemy ship I have to hit the player1 button to start all over again or it will just sit there. All sounds work. Anyone experiance this before.

Before this I would get spot light killer and track down to the PT081 chip so replaced both and replaces 7915, 7805, and 7815 transitors on the display section.

If you have any ideas, I would greatly appreciate it.

sounds like a monitor issue, brightness possibly, the ships in the game are much brighter than the asteroids, hence why I mention that, I have a working monitor that is dim, and does a similar issue when I test, I am rebuilding it/refreshing it. Try turning brightness up and see if you can make out the images.. also

last time I had this working the asteroids where slightly dimmer but not that much where I would not see them at all. But just in case I did change the brightness and did not see any change.

Also, In test mode, there are 4 lines in the middle of the screen and that is it. no beeps or other sounds. The line are about an inch wide and there is a lines amount of space between them. Not sure if that helps.

Could be that your Z output is not scaling properly, and everything that should be a percentage dimmer is blanked out, while objects that are supposed to be full brightness are.

Well I hait to sy it but I thinkyou where right and I have my AD back wahoo. It was the brightess control. when i raised it before I did not raise it enouph. Ialso did a cap kit as some of the caps had the paper starting to roll back. But as soon as I rasied the brightness more everything was there.

This is a bit strange as the board was working woth the monitors original brightness settings before, but I'm back in buinsess playing my Asteriods Deluxe. Thats everyone for helping me out
