Greetings

I am currently repairing an Asteroid Deluxe upright.

While working on the MAIN game boards, I have noticed a burnt IC Chip

Chip location is " A12 "

It is a non-socketed 8 pin IC chip

It's fried, so I can not read the part # on the chip....

Can anyone tell me what the correct IC Chip is for location A12?

Also, anything else to check around that area that might have also failed before / after that IC blew?

Many thanks.

Rob

Should be a 4016. Might be more to check out before you just swap in a new one. Here's a good tip from an old rgvac post. Copy and paste the link below into your browser.

Thanks Chane,

I did some more searching online and found these two sheets - not sure if they are correct....

See attached PICS

By these, it looks like " A 12 " is an "TL082CP" ??

This sound right?

thanks

Rob

Sorry, looked at the pcb layout again in the owners manual and went by the "A 12" location. My 4016 call is more like "B 12". No harm done as you couldn't fit the 4016 there anyway.

Thanks Chane.

So... question to the gallery

Consensus is that the TL082 is the right choice for location "A12" ??

Thanks,

Rob

I didnt look at any drawings to confirm one way or the other. I just wanted to point out that it couldnt be the cmos chip as stated. Let me download the manual real quick and I will check.
