Asteroids deluxe Humm

I had an Asteroids that had a bad hum due to the fingers on the PCB where the edge connector goes was damaged.

I'm surprised that no one has mentioned the cap on the transformer assy.

I had a bad ground in my wire connections going to the AR PCB. Wiggle the wires around on the molex connector and see if the hum goes away. I was scratching my head for years with mine until Andre, aka Rhombus, came over and showed me that trick. Report back with your findings....

Could be a couple of things, possibly the big blue. I had a loud hum just before it died.

Gee, and I was going to say it was humming because it doesn't know the words.

All the above ideas could be it. If you have an oscilloscope, you can scope your DC, (or use a digital voltmeter set to AC, and read the AC ripple), to see if you have bad / leaky caps.

The Asteroids boards have caps that dry out. Deluxe isn't that far off - it probably has the same problem.

Or do a quick search here, as its been a topic many times.

I did and came up with a bunch of diffrent stuff so i figured id consolidate, thanks for all the suggestions i'll try some.It has hummed since i bought it,im hoping its the connectors.
